Nigerians find it difficult withdrawing money for the Festive Celebration

As the eve of the Christmas 2016 draws near, people are expected to make cash withdrawals either from the ATMs or directly from the banking halls for their Christmas celebrations. However, Nigerians are not in any way finding it easy getting their money from their respective banks. Most ATMs are not dispensing cash while the few that are dispensing fail at intervals. This has led to crowds at the ATM points.  The banking halls are not left out. The banking halls are always filled to their capacities with people wanting to withdraw cash. Some of the customers interviewed alleged that the banks refused to pay them the exact amounts they wanted to withdraw. They have always given them half of the amount they had requested to withdraw.  This makes me think that the banks are intentionally frustrating their customers discouraging their withdrawals with several tactics.

Canada Declares Internet Access a Fundamental Right for All

In what is being described as a "historic" decision that will have a significant impact, particularly on the lives of those living in rural and First Nations communities, Canada's telecom agency on Wednesday issued a new rule declaring high-speed internet a basic service "necessary to the quality of life" of all Canadians.
"The future of our economy, our prosperity, and our society—indeed, the future of every citizen—requires us to set ambitious goals, and to get on with connecting all Canadians for the 21st century," said Jean-Pierre Blais, chair of the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), at a news conference. "These goals are ambitious. They will not be easy to achieve and they will cost money. But we have no choice."

Law Enforcement: Ketu Bridge Overcrowded (photos).

The law enforcement agents seem to be working hard on enforcing traffic rules in Lagos especially at the Ketu area of Lagos state. These days crossing the road without using the pedestrian bridge at Ketu is highly prohibited. This has caused the pedestrian bridge at Ketu to be highly overcrowded. If nothing is done urgently, the bridge might be posing some level of danger to the Lagosians using it.

The video in the link below show how frustrated these Nigerians are in the US. The frustration they are feeling is not cost by any foreigner over there but by the Nigerian embassy over there. Watch and hear Nigerians express their bitterness about the way they are being treated by their own people at the embassy. Embassy closes without prior notice. Without even informing the people they had given appointment and could not leave any information within their premises. People really got stranded.

US 2016 Election Update: Trump Speaks

The crowd won’t let Trump speak, chanting: USA!
“Sorry to keep you waiting, complicated business,” Trump says. “Thank you very much.”
“I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us, it’s about us, on our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard fought campaign. She fought it very well. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude to our country.”

Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division... I says it is time for us to come together as one united people.
I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans, and this is so important for me.
For those who have chosen not to support me... I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together to unify our great country.
Trump keeps thanking. The secret service. NYC law enforcement. “It’s been what they call an historic campaign,” he says.
“But to be really historic, you have to do a great job. And I promise you that we will not let you down. We will do a great job.
“While the campaign is over, our work on this movement is really only just beginning.
“We’re going to be doing a job that hopefully you’ll be so proud of your president. It’s been an amazing honor...
“And I love this country. Thank you. Thank you very much.”
Trump’s done. He kind of high-five handshakes Pence. The crowd chants USA! USA!
Trump says the government will serve the people.
“Working together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation,” he says. “I’ve gotten to know our country so well. Tremendous potential... every single American will have the ability to realize his or her potential...
“We are going to fix our inner cities... we’re gonna rebuild our infrastructure, which will become by the way second to none. And we’re going to put millions of people to work as we rebuild it.
“We will finally take care of our great veterans.”
Trump describes a “national project of renewal.” He says he will gather the best and brightest. “We will double our growth and have the strongest economy in the world. At the same time, we will get along with all other nations willing to get along with us.
“America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our country’s destiny, and dream big, and bold and daring.
“I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone.
“And now, I’d like to take this moment to thank some of the people who really helped me.”
He begins with his parents. His sisters and brother. His late brother.
Trump thanks Melania and “Don and Ivanka and Eric and Tiffany and Barron– I love you and I thank you. And especially for putting up with all of those hours. This was tough.”
“You’ve all given me such incredible support,” he says. Then he thanks his staff – “and Kellyanne and Chris and Rudy and Steve and David – we have got tremendously talented people.”
Trump thanks senator Jeff Sessions, saying “he’s as smart as you get.”
“Great man.”
“Another great man, very tough competitor, he was not easy, he was not easy... oh, Rudy get up here. Another great man who has been really a friend to me but I’ll tell you I got to know him as a competitor. Dr Ben Carson. Where is Ben.

And by the way Mike Huckabee is here someplace.
General Mike Flynn.
It’s a litany of what were thought to be peripheral figures from the conservative stale bread box. Not any more.
Now Trump is on to Reince Priebus, RNC chair.
Trump says that Reince is a superstar. “I’ll tell you Reince is really a star, and he is the hardest working guy. Get over here Reince.”
Reince gets over there. Trump gives him the microphone.
Priebus: “Ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the United States, Donald Trump!”
Cheers.

The First Woman to Win Democratic Nomination for President in the US

Hillary Clinton was the first woman to succeed in winning the Democratic nomination for president — but she wasn’t the first woman to try. That honor goes to Rep. Shirley Chisholm, a progressive fighter from the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn and the first black woman elected to Congress.
Chisholm died in 2005.
Now the question is "will Hillary Clinton go ahead to be the first elected US president"?

Accident at Ajah involving Keke Marwa

I was going from Abraham Adesanya to Ajah roundabout when I saw this Keke Marwa lying upside down by the road. On a closer look, I saw two men nursing their injuries with one of them bleeding seriously from his head. About three or four other people were trying to tie his wounded head with cloth to stop the bleeding. I was confused as I was trying to reason how it could have happened. I then noticed a Toyota Camry car in front of the Marwa. It happened that the Camry had hit the Keke marwa from behind causing it to tumble, smarshing its glasses and top with the people inside sustaining serious injuries.
